Become an AQA Centre

Joining us is straightforward: maximum rigour – minimum fuss

  • Already an approved exam centre for another exam board?

If your centre already has a National Centre Number and you offer general qualifications from another JCQ Awarding body, simply contact our centre registration department to request an application pack.

  • Becoming an exam centre for the first time?

Call us to discuss your requirements.

What you need to do

  • Ensure that your staff are familiar with these JCQ documents
  • Make provisions for the secure receipt and storage of confidential exam materials.
  • Prepare for the JCQ centre inspection staff to visit you.
  • Provide references (potentially including financial references in the case of private establishments).
  • Remember that the process could take a little time: to gain full benefit of our support and resources, contact us about becoming a centre when you start to teach the course.

What we will do

  • Keep in touch to ensure we have all the correct details for your application.
  • Arrange for an approved JCQ inspector to visit your centre (if appropriate).
  • Give you our decision based on your application and the inspector's report.
  • Allocate a National Centre Number (NCN) and send you the relevant documentation for your students' exam entries.

Note: We reserve the right to refuse any application.
