Changes to GCSE History question papers and entry codes

Friday 17 Nov 2017

We’ve made improvements to the format of question and answer booklets for GCSE History.

Sections A and B on both papers are now treated as individual components, with separate question and answer booklets for each option.

This simplifies the question papers for students and ensures they can only answer questions on the options they have studied.

Students will still sit both sections of each paper. The questions and time allotted for each exam have not changed at all, but the individual question and answer booklets will now be sent off to expert examiners in those options .

Each of the 16 options will now have individual entry codes. To work out the entry code for your combination of options, use our online tool.

Check with your exams officer that you’re entered for the right options.
