GCSE English Literature (8702): amendment to Paper 2 wording for summer 2019
Published: Monday 4 Feb 2019
We’ve made a small improvement to the wording of Question 27.2 on Paper 2, Section C – the unseen comparison question. For the June 2019 exams onwards, we’re replacing the term 'ways' with 'methods'.
This example from the June 2017 question shows the improvement.
Previous wording:
‘In both ‘Today’ and ‘Autumn’ the speakers describe attitudes towards the seasons. What are the similarities and/or differences between the ways the poets present these attitudes?’
New wording:
‘In both ‘Today’ and ‘Autumn’ the speakers describe attitudes towards the seasons. What are the similarities and/or differences between the methods the poets use to present these attitudes?’
The requirements of the task and the way in which it is assessed remain unchanged.
