Our Executive Board
AQA is a self-governing independent educational charity. Our purpose is to advance education for the benefit of young people and other learners, principally by providing high-quality qualifications.
Our Council has responsibility for overall strategy and direction, and is made up of representatives of our stakeholders in education and business. Day-to-day leadership and management is delegated to the Director General who is assisted by the Executive Board.

Director General
Mike Cresswell is accountable to the AQA Council for the day-to-day leadership and management of all our operations. He works with Council to develop our long-term strategy and is responsible for its implementation. Mike chairs our Executive Board, which assists him in fulfilling his role.
