Moderation

Moderation is the process used to standardise the marks for coursework and other components marked by schools and colleges.

This leaflet explains how moderation brings the marks given by schools and colleges into line with national standards. It is written for teachers and others who have a reasonable understanding of the examination system and of the terminology used.
