UMS (uniform mark scale)
Uniform marks are used for all GCE, GNVQ and modular GCSE specifications, as well as for non-modular GCSE Mathematics and GCSE Modern and Foreign Languages specifications.
This leaflet explains why the Uniform Mark Scale (UMS) is necessary and how it works. It is intended for Exams Officers and others who have a reasonable understanding of the examination system and of the terminology used.
