AQA is a leading provider of GCE, GCSE and other qualifications. Over 1000 staff are employed at our three locations in England, serving schools and colleges throughout the UK and overseas. The above vacancies have arisen at AQA's offices based on the University of Surrey campus and Cathedral Hill Industrial Estate, Guildford.
Supervisor Temporary General Assistants (TGAs) are required for work relating to the processing of AQA's Summer 2008 examinations.
The work of Supervisor TGAs are mainly related to two areas of AQA’s work (a) supervising groups of temporary staff undertaking routine clerical work, involves giving instruction, keeping staff motivated and maintaining discipline, and/or (b) providing administrative support for permanent staff, may involve PC/telephone work and supervising a small group of temporary staff. In all cases supervisor TGAs must be confident and assertive, very well organised and able to maintain excellent self discipline. In some cases a significant amount of lifting, bending and other manual jobs may be involved.
Applicants will be required to attend a short interview at AQA to assess their suitability before they are appointed.
The working week will be between 35 and 40 hours as determined by operational needs with a possibility of overtime.
For a normal 35 hour week your hours of work would be:
8am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm – Deacon Field, Guildford
8am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm – Stag Hill House, Guildford
All times are inclusive from Monday to Friday
