A-level English Literature Hub School Network - Autumn 2017

Course summary

This term we are pleased to offer half-day regional network meetings for teachers of A-level English Literature. These free events provide an excellent opportunity for English Literature teachers to meet and support each other in planning and teaching our AS and A-level English Literature specifications and to pick up useful information from AQA.

Course description

Our English Advocates will facilitate these meetings to encourage discussion and the sharing of ideas. The topics covered will be:

  • Specification A: Effective use of the extract, exploring AO4 and AO5, and the meaning of "answer the question"
  • Specification B: Tackling passage-based questions, blank verse and prose and the meaning of "answer the question"
  • Specifications A and B: GCSE to A-level transition: Impact of linear GCSE specification on planning.

Please feel free to only attend for the relevant specification.

Please note that these are not training events and they do not count as CPD. These events are for networking, keeping up to date and sharing best practice with fellow teachers.
