A-level Maths: Introduction to Statistics
This course will focus on: *the major statistics topics in the new AS and A-level Mathematics specifications *understanding how teaching may need to change to meet the change in examining ethos *trying some activities which can be used in the classroom *familiarising teachers with the new calculator requirements, and how the calculator will be used by students in the statistics questions for the new A-level Maths course.

We will cover the following topics: *the rationale behind the new A-level and overview of the assessment objectives and their impact on statistics questions *large data set and sampling *use of technology – binomial distribution *use of technology – normal distribution *hypothesis testing using binomial and normal distribution.
