This event will explore the mark schemes in our new GCSE and the ways in which they will work to reward students' responses. It builds on our Preparing to Teach course, considering teaching and learning strategies that will make the new GCSE course more accessible and improve student performance across the 4 levels of the mark scheme, but with an emphasis on developed thinking at Level 3 and complex thinking at Level 4.You will understand the principles behind the assessment of the new exam, and receive guidance on how to approach particular questions.In the morning there will be an emphasis on encouraging developed thinking in students who are looking to progress out of the lower levels of the mark schemes.The afternoon session considers strategies which will focus on encouraging complex thinking in students who are seeking to bridge the gap between Level 3 and Level 4 understanding and skills....
