Publishing past papers and mark schemes
Question papers and mark schemes are available in print shortly after results. Our charges just cover the costs of printing and shipping.
Schools and colleges registered with e-AQA can access recent exam materials from results days, free of charge.
Students can download most of our past papers and mark schemes for revision purposes free of charge, 9–10 months after the exams. We delay publishing them so that teachers can use them in mock exams before they go on the website where students can readily see them.
The question papers and their mark schemes are removed from the web after three years:
- so that teachers and students won't be misled by old materials, and
- for copyright reasons.

Third-party copyright restrictions
We can't publish some of our past papers on the web for copyright reasons. This applies particularly to papers containing extracts, quotations, diagrams and photos from books, magazines and newspapers. And sometimes we have to delete third-party material from the papers we put on the web: full versions of these question papers are usually available in print.
Mark schemes are not normally subject to third party restrictions and, therefore, the full suite will be published, as far as possible, here in due course. AQA will continue to make available for purchase printed copies of all mark schemes via its publications catalogue.
Copyright
- Our question papers and mark schemes are protected by copyright law. They may be downloaded and printed for internal school/college purposes only in connection with studying for exams.
- To request permission to reproduce them please contact our Copyright Officers. Permission to reproduce them in an electronic format is not normally given.
- There are also copyright restrictions regarding photocopying these materials.
- Authors and publishers wishing to reproduce our material should read our Copyright Notes to Authors and Publishers and complete our Application Form.
Downloading copyrighted material from the AQA website implies acceptance of these conditions.
