Access to Higher Education: the Federation
AQA is a member of the Federation of Authorised Validating Agencies (FAVA). The other members are:
- Cambridge Access Validating Agency
- Hampshire Access Validating Agency
- Open College of the North West
- Oxford Thames and Chiltern (OCN).
All these AVAs operate independently from National Open College Network (NOCN). The aims of FAVA are to:
- promote high-quality Access to Higher Education provision
- provide a mutually supportive forum for the discussion of issues that affect members
- share best practice and experiences between members
- benchmark Access performance between members
- promote and share staff development activities between members
- recognise and research the national needs of members
- keep QAA and other relevant bodies informed of the current issues affecting Colleges and Higher Education institutions in relation to Access
- promote and publicise FAVA and its activities with relevant organisations.
