New ELC Science: part of AQA's new science suite

The AQA new Entry Level Science Specification has recently been approved by QCA.

Entry Level Certificate in Science has been designed with teachers in mind. The content has been streamlined with new GCSE Science to aid classroom delivery, so that there is a logical progression from Entry Level Certificate to GCSE. In response to teachers' feedback, it will be easier to teach candidates of different ability in the same classroom.

There is flexibility to give candidates the opportunity to focus on the scientific area that interests them most, whilst the nine units available give a broad knowledge.

the accredited specification is available below and Specimen Externally Set Assignments (ESAs) are also available on the Website.

Sets 1, 2 and 3 of the Externally Set Assignments are available to Centres. In a change to previous procedure, these ESA's must be ordered via Publications.

ELC Science Support Material

A new book has been produced by AQA to support ELC Science 4948. This material has been produced for teachers of ELC Science who are not Science specialists. The content may also be useful to students. Copies of the book are available to order from Publications.
