Teachers' Guides

A Teacher's Guide is available in this subject. A copy has been sent all registered AQA examination centres. Further printed copies can be purchased from AQA Publications Department. These Guides are not available on-line.

The Guide contains:

• A section in which links are drawn between the new specification and the syllabus from AQA (NEAB) from which it has been derived. These links are made apparent for both AS modules and A2 modules
• A section on how the new specification fits in to the curriculum in general and which offers some possible curriculum models
• A section on the assessment of the synoptic units
• An exploration of the scheme of assessment and of the terms used in the written tests and what the instructions mean
• A section on practical skills with advice on general approaches for each skill area
• Exemplar exercises, and the related marking criteria for these
• A section on the delivery of the course covering such issues as routes through the course, and ideas for a scheme work
• A section on how the specification can be used to deliver the main key skills
