Teachers' Guides
A Teacher's Guide is available in this subject. A copy has been sent all registered AQA examination centres. Further printed copies can be purchased from AQA Publications Department. These Guides are not available on-line.
The Guide contains:
- A look at the elements of this specification that are prominent in terms of the subject content, with a distinction drawn between this specification and the AQA ICT specification
- A review of the assessment pattern
- A look at some possible curriculum models and at how synoptic assessment has been met in the specification
- A look at assessment issues
- A review of the trigger words used in the assessment units
- Advice and guidance on all aspects of the coursework with a checklist for teachers in terms of what to expect students to produce
- Advice on how much help should be given to students in the production the project
- A section on the delivery of the course along with some advice about schemes of work, and suggested schemes for each module
- A resource list for the course in general and on a topic by topic basis, including advice on software
- A section on how the specification can be used to deliver the main key skills
