Teachers' Guides

A Teacher's Guide is available in this subject. A copy has been sent all registered AQA examination centres. Further printed copies can be purchased from AQA Publications Department. These Guides are not available on-line.

The Guide contains:

• A look at the structure of the new examination and in particular at how the specification links AS and A2
• A review of the content of the course and the issues arising from the new assessment patterns
• Possible ways that the specification fits into the curriculum and an outline of the synoptic assessment in units 5 and 6
• An exploration of assessment issues in a consideration of the advantages of either coursework or case study approaches which are looked at in the light of the timing of assessments
• A detailed exploration of coursework issues, and advice on such matters as the requirements for the coursework, choosing topics, presenting the investigation and some examples of suitable investigations
