Summary



Whilst these projects are investigative in nature, they lead to well recognised and robust qualifications. Extensive trialling work has been undertaken to ensure that the revised examinations ‘work’ and provide an appropriate challenge to candidates. During the lifetime of the projects, the data collected will be appraised by an independent evaluation team and compared with models proposed and piloted by other awarding bodies. This will, in turn, inform ministerial decision-making on the structure that these various qualifications will take for the subsequent generation of students.
