GCE Use of Mathematics

A revised AS and a full A-level Use of Mathematics are being developed
AS will consist of three units, two of which will be Advanced (level 3) FSMQs; A-level will consist of six units, to include a portfolio-based unit at A2

Update: December 2007

Further Advanced (level 3) FSMQs are being written or revised. At this level the pilot FSMQs will be assessed by written paper only, although pre-release data sheets will continue to be used
It is expected that one of the units at A2 level will consist of a Portfolio based on two of the units taken in the rest of the qualification
The proposed structure of this new qualification will be submitted to QCA in January, before submission of the specification for accreditation by May 2008.
