These specifications:

• are a single GCSE qualification, the basic building block
• cover all of the Key Stage 4 Programme of Study
• highlight the scientific process and the implications of Science for society
• are written in an enquiring style
• provide a firm foundation for further learning in science
• offer two different types of external assessment for added flexibility
  • Science A (4461)
  • Science B (4462)
• include a straightforward centre-assessed unit (25%)
