The AQA Administration Handbook for the Key Skills Standards is now available for use in centres. The Administration Handbook provides information on for example, entry codes, assessment requirements, moderation and the Key Skills test dates. It must be read in conjunction with The key skills qualifications standards and guidance (QCA/04/1272).

AQA's publishing policy for specifications.

New centres

All new Key Skills centres are advised to contact the Key Skills team so that they may be allocated a portfolio adviser for the year to provide advice and guidance on the construction of the portfolio. Please note that the allocation of an adviser is not automatic on the receipt of entries.

ICT level 3

Centres entering candidates for ICT level 3 should download the set of data files for 2008/9 from the QCA Website

Candidates should be given these in read-only form as early as possible in the course to help them develop practical skills in preparation for the tests. The level 3 test will require that candidates have access to these files during the test. To ensure that preparation is broadly based rather than focused on a particular context, candidates must not be given prior knowledge of which files will be used in the tests.

Please delete the data files for 2007/8 from your network. New data files may appear to be the same as last year, but some scenarios have been added and others deleted.

The details of changes made to earlier print or electronic versions published by AQA will be notified to centres in print and on the website through the AQA Examinations Update. From the September 2002 edition onwards they are also listed on the subject noticeboard on this website.
