Updates

The last examinations for this specification are in November 2011.

This specification is being replaced by a new one for first teaching from September 2010 with units available from November 2010 and first GCSE certification in summer 2012.

English Bacc

The introduction of the new English Bacc affects every school in the country.   To achieve the English Bacc, a student must gain A* to C grades for a number of qualifications in different subject components. Find out which qualifications are included in the Maths component at our English Bacc web pages.

Secure Key Materials

Secure Key Materials is a new e-AQA service which replaces Recent Exam Materials from 1 September. It provides teachers and Exams Officers with exclusive access to a bank of exam-related material that is:

  • secure
  • easy to navigate
  • quick to use
  • intuitive, based on the design of our website.

Please read our new leaflet and look at the following demo to find out more about this new service.

To obtain an e-AQA account and access to Secure Key Materials, please register at e-AQA. For more information about the materials published on Secure Key Materials, please don't hesitate to contact the Subject team.

In GCSE Mathematics and Statistics we use arial font throughout our assessment materials except in formulae, equations or expressions. Formulae, equations or expressions are more distinct if written in italicised Times New Roman font. This change is in the specimen papers for the new Mathematics Specification 4360.

Specification 4307

There are three modules for each tier of this specification.

  • Modules 2 and 4 in the old specification were coursework modules. They no longer exist. Students now take Modules 1, 3 and 5.
  • Modules 1 and 3 correspond with the same modules in the previous specification. They can be taken in either order and in any exam series available for the specification.
  • Module 5 is a terminal module: it must be taken at the end of the course. Marks cannot be carried forward.
