Andrew Taylor
Andrew joined AQA as Senior Subject Officer for GCSE Mathematics in 2001 and moved into the newly created, wider role of Head of Subject in 2009. Andrew is responsible for:
Before joining AQA, Andrew taught mathematics for 17 years and was Head of Faculty in large comprehensive schools in Cambridgeshire and Manchester.
Ben Stafford
Working closely with Matt Hayton, Ben is responsible for our online and offline support for Maths teachers. These services, such as AQA All About Maths, are designed to promote good teaching and learning practices, as well as offering assessment resources. Ben also works with other areas of AQA, such as Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Marketing and Learner Support to ensure we are providing an excellent, cost effective service for teachers. Ben joined the AQA Maths team in 2005, having previously worked in A-level Physics and Chemistry.
Jacinta Smith
Jacinta leads on the development and management of our GCSE Mathematics Linked Pair Pilot and the new IGCSE Mathematics. Supported by Steve Prior, she is responsible for the quality of the resulting qualifications, support and centre resources. Jacinta also has overall responsibility for GCSE Statistics and ELC Mathematics which are managed by Liz Wilcock. Jacinta joined the Maths team in 2009 having previously led the development of ICT Functional Skills. Before joining AQA, she taught science in the UK and overseas.
Ann Morris
Ann joined AQA after 20 years as a Maths teacher, including a time as an Exams Officer. Since 2001, Ann has been responsible for our GCSE Modular Mathematics and now manages the new unitised GCSE Maths specification 4360. Ann is ably supported in managing these key specifications by Adrian Nicholls, Brenda Scott and Ben Latimer. She also manages the Enhanced Results Analysis (ERA) service for the department. This enables teachers to analyse student performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Elinor Hopkin
Elinor joined the Maths team from A-level Biology in September 2010 and works with Coryn Smethurst and Robin Harris, managing the Linear GCSE, Functional Skills Mathematics and the Pathways Pilots in Mathematics. Before joining AQA, Elinor taught modern languages in the Manchester area.
