This is the newly accredited specification for first teaching in September 2013,  and first assessment in Summer 2015. Read about the changes.

GCSE History A helps students build their knowledge of the development of medicine or media through time. The topics in this specification should inspire students and develop their independent and critical thinking skills.

This course has 25 per cent coursework or controlled assessment.

This course is suitable for students who wish to continue the study of History at a higher level.
