Chinese (Mandarin) (4670)

GCSE Chinese (Mandarin) helps students develop their Mandarin language skills in a variety of contexts and a broad understanding of the culture of countries and communities where Mandarin is spoken. It encourages enjoyment of language learning and the recognition that language skills enable students to take their place in a multi-lingual global society. This course has 60 per cent controlled assessment. It is particularly suitable for students who have studied FCSE Chinese (Mandarin) and wish to study at a higher level.

This four-unit specification requires students to develop their ability to write and speak in Mandarin and to understand it when it is written down or spoken. 

This qualification counts towards the English Baccalaureate.
