Specification at a glance

This GCSE Spanish specification requires students to complete four units in the following skill areas: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. The requirements for each unit can be found in the table below.

Listening and Reading are tiered; candidates can enter for either Foundation or Higher Tier in any available series. Speaking and Writing are untiered. 

This specification is only available for assessment in the June series.
 
There are no previous learning requirements. This course is particularly suitable for students who have studied FCSE Spanish.

For assessments and subject awards after June 2013 there is a requirement that 100% of the assessment is terminal.

* In Listening and Reading there are two tiers of assessment: Foundation (G – C) and Higher (D – A*).  Students may be entered for either Foundation or Higher in each of these two skills, eg Foundation Listening and Higher Reading.
