Mathematics (Linear) B 4365 is designed to reflect the change of emphasis in mathematics teaching set out in the revised programme of study for Key Stage 4. This means an increased focus on applying mathematics in context, problem-solving, reasoning and the functional elements of mathematics.

In the specification, questions can be asked about all elements of the course in either of the two longer exam papers. Both exams must be taken at the same tier.
