EPQ Blog - April 2015
Hello and welcome to the shiny new EPQ Blog! I hope that you all have a well-earned rest over the Easter Break and are ready to take on the challenges that the new term brings. My name is Katie and I have recently taken over as the Qualification Developer for the EPQ. As the newest member of the team I have been fascinated to learn about the Projects and see the incredible variety and scope of some of the projects submitted by your wonderful students.
As part of my introduction to the EPQ I have been able to see first-hand the wide range of support available to help you and your students get the most out of the EPQ. I've attended standardisation meetings and some of the wonderful professional development courses on offer; I've also met with project advisers and seen the wealth of exemplar material available on e-AQA. The EPQ is brilliantly supported, but I think this is the least we can do to help you get to grips with what I have very quickly learned is a unique qualification.
Because EPQ is so unique and also because delivering the EPQ is often the responsibility of only a small number of dedicated teachers in a school or college this blog has been set up to:
- Share best practice
- Discuss issues that have arisen
- Address common issues that schools and colleges face
- Share good news stories and resources
- Remind you of key dates and events
I hope that you find this blog useful and informative. I may from time to time ask guest bloggers to contribute, and may also like to feature some of the outstanding Projects that your students have produced. If you have any projects that you'd like to share with us, or ways in which you're delivering the projects that would be of use to other teachers and students, do please call or email.
Best of luck with the upcoming term and remember that the projects team are always here if you have any concerns or queries. You can call us on 0161 957 3980 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
