Electronics (4430)
We are not planning to develop a new GCSE Electronics qualification under government changes to GCSEs.
GCSE Electronics gives students an insight into modern electronic systems in a variety of contexts.
The specification integrates the principles of 'How Science Works' throughout the two units of the specification and in the investigations, in the areas of data, theories and explanations, and practical and enquiry skills.
The specification is suitable for candidates with a wide range of abilities. For some, the summit of achievement may be to construct and describe simple circuits, while others may gain sufficient depth of understanding to design systems to solve original problems.
The subject content of the specification has been kept to a minimum to allow for the more practical work and hands-on learning that the subject requires. It is designed to help students gain a knowledge of Electronics that may be taken further to A-level and vocationally into a career in science and technology.
GCSE Electronics is one of AQA's flexible suite of GCSE science exams. Teachers can select a variety of options and combinations to help students achieve their best.
