Exams from 2016 (AS), 2017 (A-level)
Why AQA AS and A-level Sociology?
Students will learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research. Retaining the most popular features of our previous, market-leading qualifications, we have worked with teachers, higher education and the British Sociological Association to produce clear, up-to-date and stimulating specifications.
We have built on the success of our previous specifications by introducing some minor amendments that reflect advances and changes in the subject and provide a coherent and holistic programme of study.
Our AS and A-level are fully co-teachable so you can teach and inspire a mixed class of AS and year one A-level students, keeping the option open for students to progress.
To help you with our new specification, we are developing a range of support and resources including materials developed by practising teachers and in depth resources from respected publishers and face-to-face and online professional development courses.
