- QAN code: TBC
The Department for Education has introduced Level 1/2 Technical Awards for 14 to 16 year olds at Key Stage 4. A Technical Award is equivalent to a single GCSE.
We’re developing a qualification that will meet the requirements for performance measures, provide students with an interesting and relevant learning experience and enable them to progress to a wide range of academic and vocational post-16 studies.
We’ve partnered with teachers and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) industries to ensure that the STEM skills employers are looking for are provided in the qualification we’re developing. It will include problem solving, team working and communication skills using a range of technologies.
This draft qualification has not yet been approved by the Department for Education (DfE). It is published to enable teachers to have early sight of our proposed approach to the new specification. Further changes may be required and no assurance can be given that this proposed qualification will be made available in its current form, or that it will be approved in time for first teaching.
Prepare for your teaching year. Information, support and services to help you deliver the specification.
