What support meeting is best for you?

We offer an unparalleled level of support for teachers of our specifications, which is one of the many reasons we remain such a popular Awarding Body.

The following is to help you to choose which level of support is appropriate for you as you consider AQA specifications and as you are preparing to teach them.

Launch Meetings

  • Held to introduce new or revised specifications
  • Offer you an introduction to the changes that have been made to existing AQA specifications
  • Support you during periods of curriculum change and to help you make the best choices for your students.
  • They are free of charge and include a light lunch and refreshments.

Free launch meetings for our new and revised GCSE specifications will be available in the autumn term 2008 for all revised GCSE subjects. Find the best meeting for you.

Second Phase Support Meetings

  • Held to offer teachers more help and support as they are getting to grips with the demands of a new or revised specification.
  • Led by a senior AQA Examiner, who also will have some classroom experience.
  • Designed to offer you in depth support and advice and opportunities to network with other teachers who are offering AQA specifications in your region.
  • Free of charge, and include lunch and refreshments.

A limited series of second phase support meetings for the new AQA GCE specifications will run in the autumn term . Find out where your nearest one is and book online.

Ongoing face to face Support

Once teaching and assessment is underway for any AQA specification, we offer teachers a variety of opportunities for face to face support:

  • We offer feedback on assessment sessions which are led by a Senior Examiner and in which we aim to show how candidates achieved on both coursework and externally assessed question papers
  • Ongoing support can also cover any aspect of the specification that teachers feel that they may need help with – and we are guided in our planning by what teachers tell us in terms of their support needs
  • These meetings may take the form of workshops or marking and assessment sessions
  • Focus on classroom practice and issues of teaching and learning, directly linked to the AQA specification.
