What happens next
DfE and Ofqual consultation decisions - what it means for schools, teachers and students
We’ll publish more information soon about the support we hope to have in place for schools.
Applied General Science and General Business to receive an estimated mark
Certificating Applied General Science and Applied General Business students in the January 2021 series will receive an estimated (back-calculated) mark for any units taken in summer 2020.
Continue to make entries for summer 2021
It’s important for schools and colleges to continue to make entries as usual, so students can receive grades from us. The deadline for entries was Sunday 21 February.
The deadline for late entries is 21 April.
Late entry fees refunds for private candidates
Late fees for private candidates will be refunded in the form of a credit if entries are received after the entries deadline and up to and including 21 April. Usual late entry fees and dates apply for all other students.
Exams won't go ahead as normal
In January, the Education Secretary confirmed that GCSE, AS and A-level exams won’t go ahead and will be replaced by a form of teacher-assessed grades.
