A-level History NEA (7042/C) in 2022

The deadline for submitting the A-level History question/title approval form to your Non-exam Assessment (NEA) Advisor has been extended from 20 October 2021 to 3 December 2021. This is to help relieve the pressure on teachers who may have started their NEA later this year than in previous years because of Covid-related disruption.
We’d also like to remind you of a few other key points about the 2022 NEA:
- The NEA has a word limit of 4500 words. There is no tolerance in this limit, and a 5-mark penalty will be applied for those who exceed 4500 words. This has been set to make sure all students are treated equally.
- If a student exceeds the word limit in their NEA, please do not apply the 5-mark penalty in your own marking or internal moderation – the penalty will be applied by an AQA moderator next summer.
