Changes to specification and assessment materials
Published: Monday 2 Sep 2019
We’ve made some changes to our A-level Geography Papers 1 and 2 to remove the four 1 mark multiple choice questions in Section C and replace them with one 4 mark question. The change will affect the summer 2020 exams and onwards.
- Paper 1 (7037/1) Physical geography Section C: Hazards, Ecosystems under stress - questions 05.1 to 0.5.4 and 06.1 to 06.4 have been replaced with a 4 mark question
- Paper 2 (7037/2) Human Geography Section C: Contemporary Urban Environments, Population and Environment and Resource Management - questions 03.1 to 0.3.4, 04.1 to 04.4 and 05.1 to 05.4 have been replaced with a 4 mark question.
These 4 mark questions will test AO1 and are the same question style as those found at the beginning of Sections A and B.
Revised sample assessment materials can be found in assessment resources and in the secure key materials area of our secure extranet, e-AQA. We recommend you download these for future use to replace the existing materials.
Updated notes and guidance on the assessment can be found in assessment resources.
The A-level Geography specification has been updated to reflect this change.
