Functional Skills English submit NEA grades and samples for 2020

The new Functional Skills English (8720,8725) specification requires schools and colleges to send an audio-visual sample to support non-exam assessment (NEA) grades awarded for the Speaking, Listening and Communicating component. This was not required in the old specification.
We’ve guidance on what you need to do to send sample material to us.
The Speaking and Listening component is a compulsory element of the specification and it’s important that we are able to verify that the standard is being applied consistently. This is done through the moderator viewing the audio-visual sample and studying the completed candidate record form for each student in the sample.
