GCSE MFL: Ofqual subject level conditions and guidance

Ofqual has published its decisions on the subject level conditions, requirements and guidance for the new GCSE French, German and Spanish qualifications for first teaching in September 2024.
This follows Ofqual’s consultation held in March and April this year on the proposed new content, following the Department for Education (DfE) confirmed changes to GCSE French, German and Spanish for first teaching in September 2024, and Ofqual’s published response to the consultation.
The conditions outline the requirements on which exam boards will assess the new content for GCSE French, German and Spanish from first teaching in September 2024, with first exams in 2026.
