Removal of italics from History question papers

Wednesday 5 Feb 2014

We aim to provide valid and reliable assessments which are accessible to all students. Therefore, where we are aware of ways to improve accessibility, we are able to make changes to the layout of questions/exams to meet different learners' needs.

Italicised words within question papers can be particularly difficult for students with visual impairments to read. For June 2014 exams onwards, words, terms or phrases that may have been italicised in the past will now be highlighted by single quotation marks or simply printed in non-italic type.
