The summer term is always busy with lots going on. As we all gear up towards the exam and awarding season, things can feel challenging and confusing; we’re here to make that journey a bit easier.
To help you find what you’re looking for quickly, this update contains information and links to useful resources, events and support.
These meetings offer great networking opportunities while simultaneously addressing teacher needs and relevant themes each term to support your teaching. Come along to discuss strategies, best practice, share resources and exchange experiences with your local Mathematics community.
The summer term meetings will focus on problem solving. We will look at how problem solving (AO3) is assessed in GCSE and A level, consider the challenges for students and work together on effective teaching approaches and helpful resources.
Help your students avoid common pitfalls and be confident going into the exam room, with our top tips poster. Whether you print them out to put on the classroom wall, or as individual handouts, they’ll be a useful reminder.
Make sure you’ve logged on to All About Maths to download all the available sets of practice papers, as well as understanding more about how our mock analysers can help you get to the bottom of your students’ performance during mock exams – and find areas to focus on for revision. It’s easy to get a login if you haven’t registered already.
We’ve recently released a new set of practice papers for teachers of GCSE Statistics, which are available on All About Maths. They’re password protected, so they can’t be accessed by students ahead of any planned mock exam. They’re also written by the same team of examiners who have worked on the live papers, so you can be sure they’ll be consistent with what’s in front of students on exam day.
As always, we’ll be at the La Salle conference and ready to answer any questions you might have. We’re the main sponsor, so you can expect to see us on our stand as well as delivering some thought provoking sessions. We’d love to see you there on 23 June!
