1	use a dictionary to establish the definition of at least five literary techniques, eg adjective, alliteration, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification, simile	Student completed work
2	work in a group to create at least two examples of each literary technique	Summary sheet
3	take part in reading a literary extract	Summary sheet
4	take part in a group activity to discuss and agree on four points relating to how the writer uses language in the extract	Summary sheet
5	identify and record evidence from the text that supports the points made by the group	Student completed work
6	take part in a group writing activity to write a Point, Evidence, Explain, Link (PEEL) response to one of the points agreed	Summary sheet
7	use the PEEL technique to respond to the remaining three points.	Student completed work
