In successfully completing this unit, the Learner will have		Evidence needed
demonstrated the ability to
1	take at least two cuttings using secateurs	Summary sheet
2	remove the lower leaves from a cutting	Summary sheet
3	dip the cutting in rooting compound and knock off the excess	Summary sheet
4	fill a pot with compost and make a hole in the compost	Summary sheet
5	push the cutting into the prepared pot and firm it in	Summary sheet
6	lightly water the cutting	Summary sheet
7	cover the pot with a clear plastic cover	Summary sheet
8	place the pot in a sunny glasshouse	Summary sheet
shown knowledge of
9	why rooting compound is used	Student completed work and/or summary sheet
10	the need to cover the cutting with plastic.	Student completed work and/or summary sheet
