English e-library
AQA English e-Library I am delighted to introduce our newly developed AQA English e-library that supports our new English specifications, for first teaching in 2015 and first assessment in 2017.
Developed in partnership with Cambridge University Press, it will provide you with high quality digital versions of texts and cutting-edge resource banks for our GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, as well as all of our AS and A- level English Language, Language and Literature, and Literature specifications.
This extensive and interactive e-Library signals our absolute commitment to supporting you in your preparations to introduce and teach our specifications in ways that will inspire your students to achieve their best.
Like AQA, at Cambridge University Press we are passionate about English. We want all students to be inspired and achieve their best, and for each student to connect with English in a way that will resonate with them for a lifetime.
We know that teaching and learning are changing. It’s why we’re creating a flexible, rich and easy-to-use resource to help bring texts to life like never before.
We’ve worked closely with students and teachers to identify which new technologies most appeal to them. All our digital content is being created from scratch, with the commitment to inspire learning at its heart.
The AQA English e-library will have interactivity to inspire and appeal to your students. The resource banks will include audio, video, images, an interactive glossary, as well as the ability to highlight text and search for key words.
You and your students will also have the option to add and save annotations. You’ll be able to share your notes with your students.
In this newly developed e-Library, we’ve been able to go much further. New technologies will now allow you to enable students to interact with the whole range of texts.
With plenty of content to draw on, the AQA English e-library is flexible to use. A video clip might be used at the start of a lesson, set for homework, as a model for students to create their own and so on. And it’s customisable too - you can add annotations, share them with your students, link any text to another which is great for asking students to compare, as well as adding your own weblinks.
Good learning engages and inspires students, giving them the means and confidence to access texts across a range of genres, from the familiar to the unfamiliar. The AQA English e-library has been shaped with these principles in mind, with the addition of feedback from students and teachers as part of its development.
Whether you are already entering your students with AQA, or whether you are newly considering teaching with us, there really is something for every planning, provision and teaching need – helping you to be the English teacher that you’ve always wanted to be, with time and energy to deliver quality learning in every lesson.
