I am an advocate

As an experienced Head of English (in two highly successful schools) and a senior examiner since curriculum 2000, I am an advocate for all that AQA stands for. For me it is the central importance of the candidate creating their own interpretations of texts; accessible assessment objectives; the choice of texts and the consistency of the questions; the inclusive nature of the unseen extracts that enable all abilities to achieve and be challenged and most significantly if there is a problem there is direct access to expert English subject officers who are able to deal with any issues.
