Changes for 2021

Following Ofqual’s announcement about summer 2021, here’s what you need to know for Tech-level Business: Marketing.

Please note: these changes only apply to assessment being completed this academic year.

Enabling remote access

Meetings with your External Quality Assurer (EQA) will be carried out remotely by video call. This includes both advisory and verification meetings.

Internally-assessed units will now be uploaded to ShareFile or posted to your EQA.

Extended validity of assignments

The shelf-life of the 2019-2020 Externally-Set Assignments that would ordinarily have expired in August 2020 has been extended. This will allow centres to submit them in either the January 2021 or June 2021 series. The extension will be applicable only for students registered for the qualifications before summer 2020 and who only partially completed the assignment.

EQAs will be in contact with centres and will be available to provide guidance and support throughout the year.

No other changes

There are no changes to the assessment criteria for Tech-level Business but teachers should alter the way they teach the course according to their facilities and situation.

All sections of the specification will remain the same for 2021. There are no planned changes to the specification content and all content should be covered. The style of the exams and associated mark scheme will be familiar.
