AS Philosophy
There are no planned changes to AS Philosophy for 2021 following Ofqual’s consultation
The last time schools can enter for AS Philosophy will be summer 2021. This will also be the final resit opportunity.
- Teaching from: September 2017
- Exams from: June 2018
- Specification code: 7171
- QAN code: 603/0685/3
Students at AS will continue to consider the big questions, such as: “What is knowledge?” and “What do good, bad, right and wrong really mean?” Students at A-level will also explore further questions including: “Is the concept of God incoherent?” and “What is mind?”
We’ve made our specifications even clearer and easier to understand, updating the content and making sure the work of women philosophers is clearly represented. You’ll also recognise the structure of the AS and A-level papers and mark schemes.
