Level 1/2 Certificate in Preparation for Working Life: Full Course (4801)
Following feedback on our previous announcement we’ve decided to accept entries for summer 2019 for students being entered for the first time. This is on the understanding that these students will not have a resit opportunity beyond summer 2019.
Therefore, summer 2019 will be the final opportunity to enter for 4800C/W (coursework and one exam) and 4801 (two exams only).
Please note, students resitting 4800 can carry their coursework marks forward.
The Preparation for Working Life specification is equivalent, in the size and demand placed on students, to a GCSE short course.
This Preparation for Working Life specification is similar in size and demand to a full course GCSE, and is suitable for all students from grades A*-G. The course assessment is by examination only.
This is an inter-disciplinary course which covers aspects of careers, health, personal safety, employment opportunities, applying for jobs and courses, interview preparation and personal finance. It therefore compliments a broad range of curriculum pathways and can be used to enrich learning for life and work at Key Stages 4 and 5.
The course maps onto the programmes of study at Key Stage 4 for Citizenship and PSHE, personal and economic well-being and financial capability (see Appendix 4 of the specification).
