Tech-level qualifications

Our aim is to ensure that we offer qualifications that meet the current and future needs of most students, and teachers. After a recent review, we’ve made the difficult decision that we’ll no longer be offering all of our Tech-level qualifications. The last time schools can enter for our Tech-levels will be summer 2020.

June 2021 will be the final internally assessed unit certification opportunity, and January 2022 will be the last external exam resit and certification opportunity.

All Technical Level qualifications form part of the government’s Technical Baccalaureate measure for 16- to 19-year-olds.

DfE 16 to 19 performance tables and UCAS tariff points

Our Tech-level qualifications are included in the performance tables for technical and vocational qualifications aimed at students aged 16 to 19, as published by the Department for Education (DfE). They attract UCAS tariff points

They support 16-18 study programmes, providing a real alternative to A-levels and other vocational qualifications, and supporting progression to higher education and higher apprenticeship.
