Functional Skills English: November 2023 series
Published: Thursday 7 Sep 2023
For the Functional Skills English Level 1 and Level 2 exams in November 2023, learners must complete a Speaking, Listening and Communicating component, as this is a requirement of the specification.
You’ll also need to send us an audio-visual sample and the appropriate candidate record form which allows us to comply with the Joint Council for Qualifications' (JCQ) rules about moderating the entries for the component. Our NEA guidance has more information about submitting samples.
If you’re having difficulties getting an audio-visual recording for any of your learners, please email us at english-gcse@aqa.org.uk by 13 October 2023 giving the reasons for this.
The 2024 candidate record form for Component 3 Speaking, Listening and Communication exams for the 2023/2024 series can be found in assessment resources.
The deadline to submit centre-assessed grades for the English Functional Skills Speaking, Listening and Communicating assessment is 5 November 2023.
