Ofqual changes for exams and assessments in 2021
Published: Tuesday 1 Sep 2020
We know schools and colleges need clarity about the changes for next summer, following Ofqual’s decisions on summer 2021 exams.
Ofqual has decided that not all subjects will have changes. For the subjects that do, our curriculum teams have been working hard through the summer to make the relevant changes to our qualifications.
We’ve now submitted all our proposed changes to Ofqual, and we expect to hear back from them by mid-September.
We understand how important it is for schools and colleges to know what these changes mean for your subjects. We promise we’ll be in touch with you as soon as we’ve heard back from Ofqual, and we can confirm and explain all the changes in full.
In the meantime, schools and colleges should continue to prepare for these assessments (NEA, pre-release etc) as normal, and we’ll update them on subject specific changes as soon as we can.
Update – 8 September: We’ve already started to hear back from Ofqual so we’ll be in touch very soon to confirm and explain the changes in full.
