Ofqual guidance on submission of students' grades

Published: Thursday 25 Mar 2021

You might have already seen that Ofqual published the decisions from the Technical consultation on the general qualifications alternative awarding framework in summer 2021.

These decisions are reflected in two sets of guidance they’ve published. One being the Information for centres about making objective judgements. The second is the Submission of teacher assessed grades, outlined below.

For summer 2021, exam boards will ask schools and colleges to generate, for each subject, grades for their students. These grades should be based on a range of evidence completed as part of the course, including evidence produced in the coming months, which demonstrates the student’s performance on the subject content they have been taught.

Exam boards will provide a package of support materials to help teachers make these judgements and will provide further advice on how centres should collect and submit evidence.
