To help you prepare for AS and A-level Sociology exams in 2024 and to support your teaching, we’ve created new and improved resources. Here's a summary of what's on offer.

Schemes of work

We’ve created five new schemes of work to support your teaching for 2024:

• Year 1 A-level and AS (Education; Methods in Context; Research Methods; Families and Households)
• Year 2 A-level (Beliefs in Society; Crime and Deviance; Theory and Methods)
• Optional topics: Culture and Identity; Global Development; The Media.

Command words and subject specific vocabulary

To help you prepare for the 2024 exams, we’ve recently published command words and subject specific vocabulary used in the assessments.

Teaching guide

We’ve updated our Teaching guide to assist your delivery of AS and A-level Sociology. This guide provides the names of sociologists that you may want to engage with when teaching your learners (these are suggestions only). Both classic and more recent sociologists have been included.

The guide should be read alongside the specification.
